        I think Charles Darwin!! He is best known for his contributions to evolutionary theory. He travelled the globe, and was part of one of the most important theories in biology!

        I think I would be Isaac Newton. He was a genius and is still considered to be an absolute legend!

        I think it would have been interesting in the early Victorian era as so much was being discovered, and practically anyone could be a scientist back then as all the discoveries were major but with basic equipment. Perhaps Michael Faraday – he was a pioneer in the understanding and use of electricity. And like Newton and Darwin (see the answers from Lauren and Anais) he has been on the back of a UK banknote.

        Perhaps that is the criterion to decide!
