        Hi Esra,
I started my PhD 3 years ago when I was 22. But when I was 18 I spent a year out of education as a voluntary researcher in Madagascar, working on the health of coral reefs. This was a great experience, it helped me realise that I would like to work in research!

Hello, I started my own research as a PhD student when I was 23 years old. But previously I had done some research as a Formulation Development Chemist for a big company when I was working in Holland. I did that when I was 20 years old.

The research I did in my PhD I started as an undergraduate, but I actually did my studies part-time whilst working in the hazardous waste industry, so I was actually 27.
