Well, I don’t know about the religious side of things, but it’s pretty easy to see what happens when we die. There’s an entire branch of forensics dedicated to this exact thing. But I think I want to be cremated when I die, just in case the zombie apocalypse happens!

Yes, I have thought about this. Some people think that your spirit goes into an afterlife and that you come back to Earth as something else like an animal or another human. But I don’t believe that. I think that when we die our brains just switch off and that’s it.

I agree with Anais, I think that when we die, our brains simply shut down. Once the brain is shut down, the other cells in the body will also eventually shut down and die. Many people do believe in an afterlife though, and I respect that!

Good question and as important a question as ‘where did we come from?’

Yes I’m sure we all think about it, and we all have the same answer. No one knows. Is it possible your consciousness carries on in some form? Maybe… Perhaps if we understood the nature of consciousness we would be better placed to answer that question. Whatever happens, I think more important is how we live and how we treat each other now.
