I must admit, there have been some really nasty jobs I’ve had to do, but it’s always a relief to take your protective gear off later and think about something else!

Hello Hannah, I’ll be honest with you; I really don’t like it when my experiments don’t work! That’s why I try really hard to make sure they go well in the first place. But sometimes even if you think you’ve done everything perfectly, it still doesn’t work. I have learnt that this is normal and actually if something doesn’t work it gives you the opportunity to solve the problems and become a great problem solver!

I don’t enjoy everything, I reckon even chocolate tasters have off days! That’s normal though. It’s probably character building or something. I’d agree with Anais, it’s really frustrating when experiments don’t work, but the path to success doesn’t run smoothly – even failed experiments teach you something, even if it’s just what not to do next time!

The most frustrating thing about science is that sometimes experiments don’t work the first, second, third and sometimes even TENTH time! It can take a while to figure out how to make things work. But when things finally go smoothly, and you get some data from your experiments this can be super exciting! You learn a lot when experiments go wrong, and the highs far outweigh the lows!
