Yes it is a great concern to lots of people. There seems to be a strong causal link between human activity and the change in global climate. I don’t think it can be stopped but there are things everyone can do to reduce their emissions of greenhouse gases. Ultimately the big decisions rest with the governments of countries, but we can all do our bit, even if it walking to the shops rather than taking the car.

Yes, I am worried about global warming. What worries me more though is that people aren’t taking it seriously, they believe that because the effects of global warming aren’t happening immediately, we shouldn’t be worried. Unfortunately the effects of global warming like melting ice caps, rising sea levels, droughts and flooding are occurring but because they’re not causing huge problems to the global population, people don’t see global warming as a threat. I think that more should be done to stop countries from emitting carbon dioxide from burning fossil fuels. This will stop the Earth’s atmosphere from heating up and causing the ice caps to melt. I also think that more should be done to implement renewable energies like solar panels and wind turbines onto all homes, but things like solar panels need lots of energy to be constructed and precious materials so some people would argue that it’s not efficient to enforce solar panels onto every home. Some scientists are trying to make artificial trees that can photosynthesise and act like real plants. This is being done because it is hoped that it could help capture the excess carbon dioxide in the atmosphere. But wouldn’t it be more cost-effective and more environmentally friendly to just plant real plants and trees?!

Yes, this is very worrying. In order to avoid dangerous global warming, we need to reduce global greenhouse gas emissions by about 50% by the year 2050. Some people often make the argument that we simply don’t have the technology necessary to reduce emissions this much, this quickly. So I dont think we can stop it, but I think we should try our best to slow it down!

In the long term we can make changes to help slow this down, we could use more renewable energy sources, drive smarter possibly electric cars, reduce, reuse, and recycle, use less heat and air conditioning, use less hot water, use the ‘off’ switch!!!

Well, I guess it doesn’t make any sense to worry about it too much as there’s not a lot that only one person can do to save the planet, it takes entire countries to change how they act. It’d be nice if we all started acting more responsibly with respect to the environment, not just because of global warming, but because it’s the right thing to do.
