For me personally, I read a book aptly called: ‘How the Brain Works’ which made me realise how much we don’t really know about our brains, and from that point onward I got quite hooked on the subject.
I read a book call the hot zone when I was at school, it was all about Ebola. Then during my degree I got to do a project working with a virus that grows in Cyanbacteria, I really enjoyed it.
I always enjoyed science at school and was particularly interested in how the body works, and why some people develop diseases. Therefore it made sense to me to study genetics at university. I love that you can play at being a detective. While at University I did an interesting lab project which made me really want to work in research.
