The project I am working is funded by a charity (NC3Rs) who try to reduce the number of animals used in research or replace the animals for something else. So I’ve managed to develop a system where we use one or two rather than 30 animals. Ideally, we want to use no animals at all, but I still have to work to do in order to get that far.
We do most of our work in immortal cell lines from tumour cells.
