      Our planet is 4.5 billion years old (4,500,000,000 years). We believe that life on Earth began about 3.8 billion years ago, originally with single-celled organisms, such as bacteria. But humans, as we know them, have only been around for 200,000 years! That’s a very short time compared to how long our planet and life has existed!
