For my experiments, I use quite a lot of scientific equipment. We have a ‘Planetary Simulation Chamber’ that can recreate the temperature, pressure and radiation that would exist on the surface of Mars – it’s very cool! So we are using that to discover what kind of life might exist (or have existed in the past) on the red planet.

We also have an ‘anaerobic chamber’ which does not allow any oxygen in, a gas that we breathe in everyday. There is very little oxygen in space beyond Earth, so it is interesting to look at whether some life can survive without it!
