Question: One day do you want to try and prevent the Earth from having these kind of places in the world?

Good question! Although ‘extreme environments’ can be dangerous to humans, some plants/animals/bacteria actually need these environments’ to survive. So instead of taking away their homes, I am just studying them and trying to understand how they can survive in such conditions that us humans can not. Then we can get a better understanding of how life could survive in the extreme environments of planets/moons beyond the Earth!
