Question: If you are looking into different things and into wheat, will you eventually learn how to prevent wheat plants from catching diseases?

That’s possibly the best question I’ve been asked! Unfortunately it isn’t possible to stop wheat plants catching diseases ever again (I wish it was though!). The diseases that wheat catches are called ‘rusts’ because they look like rust on metal. The rust evolves so it is changing every year. Every year a new type of rust evolves so we have to try and stop the wheat from catching that type of rust. But then the same happens the next year, it’s never ending! It’s like how we can’t stop people from catching colds, because the cold changes through evolution all the time, so we can never stop it! 🙁
