• Question: Have you ever artificially created your own wheat?

      Ah, genetic modification! Well, at the moment it is illegal to artificially create your own wheat in the UK. This is because the UK is a part of a group of countries called the EU and the EU doesn’t let any of the countries create their own plants artificially. You’ve probably heard of ‘Brexit’ and if the UK does leave the EU then it would be able to make it legal to artificially create plants like wheat. Even though I haven’t, I would love to create my own wheat artificially because you could pick the best bits from lots of different plants and put them all together in one! That’s what we’re trying to do at the moment using more traditional methods.
