  Yes, I had to retake a few maths and physics exams. My college teachers were not the most inspiring and in fact did not give me the help I needed because I was one of the few girls in my class, so I was practically ignored. After that I was determined to get through the exams myself and show the teachers that regardless of being female in a class of mainly boys, I could do just as well.
  
  I have now finished a degree in Astronomy and am doing a PhD, so I think I’ve shown them that girls can do science just as well!
