• Question: when have you been the most proud of yourself?

      I was very proud of myself when I passed my PhD viva. A viva is an oral examination where you have to defend your written thesis in front of two experts in the field. When you pass your viva, then you get your PhD and you can be called a doctor! For me it was the culmination of 3 years of hard work, and the moment they told me I passed my viva I knew it was all worth it.

      When my team won a government award for a data science project. As a small department it was a great honor and showed that the team were amazing – I am not sure that they believed me when I told them!
