I usually get up before 6am and get some breakfast before I get everyone else up. I leave with my son at 7am.
We use the car to get to the station and then go our separate ways – he goes to school and I go to the office in London. After the train and a brisk walk I usually arrive at 8.30.
My working day is a series of meetings usually interspersed with time at a hot desk. But I also am out and about a lot. This week I have been in the office for a couple of days. Tuesday I presented a talk at a conference setting out a data challenge (I gave them some data) and then out at an all day event for digital leaders on Wednesday.
Today I am at a conference at the Royal Society – satellite data for agriculture.
I usually try and leave the office around 5-5.30. So that I can make sure my children have opportunities to do things in the evening. But I do sometimes do more work then (or answer questions for this).
I am fortunate that usually I don’t work at the weekend unless there is a specific event – If I go I get to take the time off the following week!
