It is thought that the Earth was formed 4.5 billion years ago when tons of particles came together into a mass i.e. earth. This mass probably had some atmosphere, but certainly no oxygen and it would definitely have been toxic to us! The moon was formed about 25 billion years later by some sort of giant impact collision.

Not much to add to Christie’s answer. I guess you could say that we’re around the halfway point of Earth’s life expectancy, since the sun is expected to start dying in about 5 billion years!

Good answers. Perhaps it is the mid-life crisis point?
