They’re both similar and different at the same time! They’re both big cities but Hong Kong has a much more urban feel to it. Buildings are super closely packed together, there’s a lot of shops with neon signs, there are many more people living there (it’s one of the most densely populated places in the world). I would say Hong Kong is a lot more convenient, shops stay open late til almost midnight, you can use your phone on the underground subway, and there is so much to see and do! There’s also a surprising amount of greenery in Hong Kong, I used to really like going hiking in the countryside and going to the beach. It’s hot, it’s humid, and summers are regularly 33C and above. There are a lot of unique things in Hong Kong that can’t be found anywhere else in the world – you should try and visit if you have the opportunity 🙂
