Titanium is made of titanium! It’s an element (Ti), atomic number 22. It is mainly seen as titanium dioxide which is used as a white pigment e.g. paints, inks, foods, pills and toothpastes.

You can mix titanium with other metals such as iron or aluminium to make strong, lightweight metal compounds (alloys) which used for aerospace e.g. jet engines, missiles.

For a brief history on titanium: it was discovered in Cornwall in 1791 and is named after the Titans in Greek mythology.
