      Nope! Electricity is a type of energy, so it’s not a man-made phenomenon. Lightning is electricity. Your brain cells communicate with each other by electricity. Of course, the electrical signals in your brain are much less powerful than lightning, so don’t play with electricity at home 🙂

      No, but there are lots and lots of inventions that make use of electricity.

      Nah, electricity is a natural form of energy. But it is thought to be discovered by a guy called Benjamin Franklin. He performed an experiment in which he flew a kite in a thunderstorm attached to a metal key, receiving an electric shock. Years later, inventors such as Thomas Edison (invented electric lightbulb), Alexander Graham Bell and Anthony Pollok (invented telephone) used electricity to make modern appliances.

      Good answers – energy cannot be created or destroyed – learnt this in physics when I was in school which means electricity was discovered not invented.
