      Honestly, unsuccessful experiments are much more common than you might think. Experiments might not work for a variety of reasons. You might have the wrong hypothesis, or maybe your cells all died because you treated them with a too-high concentration of drug. Or maybe you have a solution that is slightly the wrong pH for your experiment. Or maybe you haven’t figured out the optimal conditions to carry out your experiment yet. Or it could be because the air conditioner in your lab is broken and the temperature is too hot (true story). Fact is, a lot of time in science is spent on troubleshooting experiments. You just have to be persistent and keep going despite the setbacks!
