No, but I have a few friends who are gay/lesbian/bisexual. The fact that they have a different sexual orientation to me doesn’t affect our friendship at all.
I have one very close friends who is gay. I went to their wedding recently with all of my family, and it was the best party I’d been to for a very long time! I’m not gay myself but sexual orientation is a personal thing and I’m delighted that we are moving towards a country in which people can be comfortable, and have the same rights, whatever their sexual orientation.
I am not gay, but also have a few friends who work in science and out of science who are. I’m going to one of their weddings next year! David is right, in that we are moving into a world where sexual orientation does not matter in the slightest.
No, but I am pleased that for my friends and colleagues who are, they are accepted regardless of their sexual orientation. Huge progress has been made in recent years and hopefully this will continue.
