  It depends what type of cancer we are treating.
  The best treatments keep the dose low to healthy organs whilst giving a high dose to the cancer. Volumetric Modulated Arc Therapy (VMAT) does this well. Proton therapy has been in the news lately and this is seen as good for treating brain, spine and eye cancers.
