Lisa Simmons answered on 7 Nov 2014:

I had the best time at school, and my science teachers were excellent. They were really passionate about teaching science and every lesson was interesting. This made me want to do science in the first place. When I got to university, my lecturers were just the same, and all my friends that were on the course with me shared my enthusiasm. I knew that I loved to be in the lab with my friends and lecturers, building bits of kit, doing experiments. We were never really told “No! You can’t do that”, which was great because we got lots of opportunities to explore different areas of physics.
