      Hello Charlotte!
the good thing about doing science is that you might discover something very useful and important for example for the production of new medicines, new machines and so on! Imagine a world without penicillin (the antibiotic -a medicine that acts against bacterial infections- discovered at the beginning of 1900 by pure mistake/luck in a laboratory where mould-like stuff was growing and was eating bacteria!) or without computers!
