It is a lethal disease caused by the bacteria Bacillus anthracis and can be caught via consumption of this bacteria.
They create an exotoxin that is highly poisonous to humans/mammals. Exotoxin just means ….exo – outside/exterior, toxin – poison thing, outside-poison ;).
Hello 223tntd28,
Anthrax is a disease given by a bad microbe called Bacillus anthracis and it affects mainly animals (sheeps, horses, goats, pigs, camels and so on) after they’ve eaten infected food. It is not contagious, the way you can get it is either by eating infected meat or by getting in contact with infected material. It became famous on the news a while ago as a dangerous biological weapon!
It is a serious bacterial disease of sheep and cattle, typically affecting the skin and lungs. It can be transmitted to humans, causing severe skin ulceration or a form of pneumonia.
