      No! Or at least I don’t think so…

      Quite often in TV shows and films scientists are always seen as different to other people or a little bit odd. In reality, we’re just like everyone else.

      I think we are generally pretty normal – however I think little odd ‘quirks’ of personality are more common in academia…

      I’ve never personally met a mad scientist, but I’ve met some pretty strange ones. People often think scientists are mad because they think in different ways to the majority and when you do that you can come up with some unusual ideas. I also think it’s easier to label people who are different than to try to understand what is going on in their heads.
