      There are many gases that can hurt the planet, and there are some special types that can cause the Earth to heat up when in the atmosphere. These gases are called Greenhouse Gases and include methane and carbon dioxide.

      The gases go into the atmosphere and trap the heat into the Earth’s atmosphere. As the amount of the gas increases, the amount of heat trapped goes up and this heats up the Earth more and more. This heat is starting to cause all sorts of problems like dangerous weather which upsets animals and can leave them with nowhere to live.
