That depends on what I’m doing and what time of year it is!
Each hive can have around 60,000 bees in the summer, so if I’m visiting ten hives to check on them or gather some bees for an experiment I can end up working with a lot of bees.
In winter, this tends to get a lot smaller so around 20,000 in a hive.
In the lab, I typically have a few experiments set up at a time so around 300 bees.
