I’d like to be in a place where I know that I am making a real contribution to the society. It could be by being the editor of a science magazine or being a top researcher in my field.

      Erm….10 years older?

I’d like it if the work I’m doing now could help people in the future. I’d like to be doing research, with my work published in really good journals and making a difference!

Another very important question, thanks. I’d like to be a Professor in an excellent university, department of physics, mathematics, meteorology or something related. I want to lead several research projects, paid for by big financial awards to proposals I write without going crazy. I want to mentor bright young scientists, and give free seminars to the public and get their feedback about what science is important to them. All this would take more than just science skills but I’ll keep trying.

I think I’d either like to be a scientist (preferably a Professor!) working on pregnancy and labour… like I am now, but further along the career path, I’d like to be a world-renowned expert in my field 😉

Orrr… I wouldn’t mind being the female reproductive biologist equivalent of Prof Brian Cox! Getting to talk about reproductive biology on the telly would be pretty cool. I’d just have to develop a lovely soothing voice, and move to Manchester to pick up the accent.

I’d like to think I would have become an expert in my field by that time, and be in a position to educate others – be it as a senior researcher, a teacher, or as an adviser.
