Diana Samuel answered on 21 Jun 2011:

There are 12 frogs, and their names are *deep breath” Sherlock, Bungee, Kermit, Prince, Fidel, Hannibal, Arthur, Stryder, Gammy, Teeny, Squint, and one without a name (we’re trying to come up with one!).

The mechanism they use to stick to surfaces is known as wet adhesion. They release a fluid from their toe pads, and the forces that build up allow the toe pads and the surface to stay together.
