Good question 🙂 I thought it wouldn’t be long before someone asked me this!

If I became a midwife, I’d see a lot of women in labour and be able to help them through it, but I wouldn’t be learning about HOW it’s happening and what triggered it to start. That’s the bit I’m really interested in. I want to understand the science behind labour, and hopefully find something that will help doctors and midwives treat pregnant women who go into labour too early.

I think midwives have an amazing job. It must be really rewarding, but really hard work too. I don’t think I could cope with pregnant women screaming all day and all the blood and stuff, so hats off to them! I’ll stay in my lab instead. No-one (hardly) ever screams in there 🙂
