I did my undergraduate studies at the Institute of Chemical Technology, Mumbai in 4 years. At Oxford I’ve been for 2.5 years and hope to finish in another year. So 7.5 years in total for me to get a Bachelors and a Doctorate (hopefully).
I was at my undergraduate uni (Cardiff) for four years because I did the first year of a Psychology degree before changing to Biology.
When I left Cardiff I worked for three years in an office, but for two of those years I was also studying part time for a masters (postgraduate) degree at Bristol. Then when I finished that I went straight into my PhD at the University of Edinburgh.
So I guess if you add it all up, I’ve been in uni for about 6.5 years, and I’ll be here for at least another 2.5 finishing my PhD. Good job I like being a student 😉
I like how you say have to as if we’re forced! hehe, being a student is pretty good, if you don’t mind hard work and very little money 😀
I went to Manchester and did an undergraduate masters in biomedical materials (MEng) and I’m almost a year into a 3 and a 1/2 year PhD in poylmer chemistry. Basicall started in 2008 and will finish in 2013 (hopefully!!)
I did a 3 year Bachelor’s degree (biology) and a 1 year Masters degree (biomechanics) at the University of Manchester. I then moved to the University of Glasgow, and am currently a year and a half into my PhD. They generally take 3 years (though you have until the end of 4 years to complete it), so all in all I will have stayed at university for 7 years.
