im not sure if you mean the materials we’re putting in, or looking at the materials that are already in there?

At university i did biomedical material science, which basically covers all materials that are involved in medicine and health care, and there are alot!! contact lenses, plasters/bandages, replacement hips and even the systems that are used to get drugs to specific places in your body. materials can be used to replace parts of your body that have failed because of trauma, disease or old age.

looking at the way the body works as a system helps design materials so they have properties that match up-so they can convince the immune system that they are supposed to be there! they can also be used to trigger a response in the body to help it heal itself, like hormones.

i hope this has answered your question but let me know if all I’ve done is confuse you!!
