I don’t think so. They can sometimes make your eyes sore, and some people just don’t get on very well with them and have to stick with glasses, but I don’t think there’s any reason they’d be bad for your eyes if you were able to wear them comfortably and you put them in with clean fingers to avoid getting dirt or germs in your eyes…
The main reason people have problems with contact lenses is that they stop oxygen reaching the surface of the eyeball, this could lead to irritation (and in the most sever cases, infection).
This is the main reason contact lenses have to be changed frequently-and one of the main areas that contacts lenses can be improved is make them better at retaining water, by doing this oxygen can easily diffuse through the water under the contact lens to the surface of the eye.
