I am working on T2K until at least 2014 and after then who knows – I hope I can stay in the field of neutrino physics and there are many up and coming experiments. I guess I have to wait and see where the jobs are, if there are any…
My current work is mainly on a new project which is a data analysis toolkit which users of Diamond Light Source can take home to help them understand and visualise there data.
My job’s a bit different to the other scientists in the zone because I manage the funding side of things and the decisions about which projects we should give money to. So I work with lots of different projects. Basically the scientists have to come and tell me what project they want to work on and why, and we will look at it and get different people’s opinions and advice, see whether we can afford it and then (hopefully) give them the money.
