Right now I am enjoying it so I want the ride to continue, but who knows circumstances change. The market for research jobs is not great with few jobs for many people, much like any industry right now. I hope in two years time when I HAVE to find my next job that there is something available for me and that I am good/lucky enough to get the job. Otherwise it is to the city with me to earn lots of money in finance.

      Hi lucyb,
I hope my career stays interesting. I have a fairly low threshold for boredom so I need to keep doing something that interests me. I’m passionate about science, so sticking with a science-related career seems to be one way to achieve that. Who knows what the future holds though?

      Hi lucyb

Defiantly, I love what I do and cant see any reason to change. I’m especially lucky as I have a permanent position which is not always the case for scientists.

Thanks for another good question 🙂

I don’t know! I try not to plan my future too much, as it always works out kind of random anyway.

I like doing science research, and teaching (and getting to do things like IMAS!) at the moment, but I could imagine maybe I’ll do something else in the future 🙂

i very much hope so. I’m lucky enough to have a permanent job not a fixed contract, but that only goes so far – there have been cutbacks and redundancies in science recently. not too different to other walks of life at the moment I suppose.
As long as i’m producing good science, and enjoying it, i will continue.
