Hi Olivers! Fizzy drinks are fizzy because they contain carbon dioxide gas, which is what the bubbles are made of! When you drink them the carbon dioxide bubbles buid up in your stomach until it is full of it! Your body needs to get rid of this gas, or you cant fit any more food in, so it goes back up your throat to your mouth and comes out as a burp! Thanks for your question!
