      Hi again lmcnevin!

Physics is the science that studies matter, motion, energy, forces, electricity, magnets and atoms. In ancient greek it means “nature”. Physics tries to understand how the universe behaves – from what atoms are made of to what moves galaxies and fires stars.
The boundaries of physics are not rigidly defined. New ideas in physics often explain lots of things in other sciences too! So physics is also part of lots of other fields of research – I for example work in biophysics, using physics-based technology to better find out facts in biology. Have you checked out the pictures of my lab?
