Hi Shubomi! This is actually a very good point! Most medicines are made from things that come from oil and so one day these will run out. The main ingredients in hobknobs are oats and flour and both of these things come from cereal crops that can be grown and so they are potentially renewable. There is a lot of research at the moment trying to turn crops and agricultural waste into things we can use to replace oil. So the answer is actually yes! Although it can’t be called a ‘natural’ medicine unless the processes used to make it are environmentally friendly, which is exactly what my research is trying to do.

I have also just found out that Hobknobs contain Glucose-Fructose Syrup, which is apparently addictive! So I now know why I can’t stop eating them. Thanks for your question!
