• Question: Is it possible to cool down the sun?

      Hi agian Gazakim! I think you asked this question in our live chat earlier? No I don’t think it is possible for us to cool down the sun because it is so hot (around about 15 million oC at its core) that anything we send towards it will be vapourised before it reaches it! However if we develop an awesome heatproof material then perhaps we could, who knows. The sun will cool down on its own in about 5 billion years when it runs out of hydrogen, so if you can wait that long then you can see what happens!

      Will’s covered this brilliantly! The sun will cool down by itself.

      Until then, we’ll just have to sit in the shade when it gets too hot!

      Hi Gazakim, I don’t think anything us humans can do will cool the sun down, but it will get cooler on its own with enough time.
