  When your heart stops beating like in a heart attack it will stop the blood flow around your body. This would mean organs like your brain and even your heart won’t be able to get any oxygen and they will start to die. That is why if someone has a heart attack people try to “restart” the heart to get it beating again.
  
  If they are unable to start the heart again, doctors say the person has had a cardiac arrest, where their heart has fully given up. When this happens your body will soon die (within 30 seconds to a minute) after as it needs the oxygen to survive.
