• Question: why do people sleep walk?

      I have no idea, but it must have something to do with the coordinated activation of the motor cortex during a certain phase of sleep. You will move around during your sleep, but you probably won’t leave the bed. I didn’t realise I moved about until my wife told me I did. I’ve had a few kicks and knocks from her too, but she may not have been asleep!
