I’m helping people with learning disabilities in their learning of new and complex skills. The aim is to make it easier for them to learn the skills required to have a job and take part in as much physical activity and sport as possible to imrpove their quality of life. I am also working on decision making in sport, and trying to find ways of better training sportsmen and women to perfrom to the best of their ability in fast passed and complex situations.

I hope that my research into why athletes take performance enhancing drugs (and why some don’t) will help us find ways to encourage new young athletes NOT to take performance enhancers during their athletic career. Many forms of doping are pretty dangerous, so this could protect the health, and sometimes the lives, of our future athletes.
