• Question: have you been up in space yet, if so what is it like if not would you like to go up there?

      I’ve not had the chance yet, and i’m not sure if i ever will really. it’s not really related to my direct area of study and i’m not sure my head of department would swing for it!! Maybe i could get a chance to go on the ‘vomit comet’!! That’s an aeroplane they take very high in the atmosphere then put it into a big dive towards the earth. You are weightless for a short period of time (i think only about 15 seconds but i’m not sure). It’s how they film alot of the ‘space’ shot for films like apollo 12 and armageddon. I think that’s as close as i’ll ever get to space, and even that is pretty unlikely!! I’d love to though, it would be amazing!!

      Like Stuart – I would like to try being weightless too – and if I had Bill Gate’s bank account I would definitely pay to go up for a trip in space I would love to look back at the earth and see it like a small planet.

      I wish! I’ve jumped out of a plane though which was quite cool.
