yes, lots. All my housemates are scientists, my boyfriend is a chemist and I have a group of scientists friends at work too. I know lots of non-scientists too though. The benefit of going to Oxford and being a member of a ‘college’ not just a department is that you know lots of people who do lots of things.

I have several friends who are sport psychologists, and other types of psychologists – but most of my friends do other jobs. For some reason I know about 10 stand up comediens.

My friends have a huge range of jobs, some are sports scientists, a few are marine biologists, and then i’ve got an electrician, photographer, policemen, teacher and chef amoungst my other close friends so it’s a big mix!

I have friends from all walks of life but I do have a lot of friends who are scientists.

My scientist friends are from all over the world, Spain, Austrialia, South Africa, America etc being a scientist allows me to travel to conference around the world and you get to meet people doing similar work in different countries and somtimes you become very good friends.
