  The light from the furthest galaxies I have seen has travelled around 1.4 thousand billion, billion, billion km to reach us! That takes a long time and so we see the galaxies as they were 12.5 billion years ago.
  Unsurprisingly its pretty hard to detect galaxies this far away and so I have only seen about 30-40 galaxies this far away.
