A lot of spiders, but thats because I’m terrified of them. I don’t work in animal testing but some of my friends do and I know it’s part of their job.

Only the greenfly, snails and slugs that keep eating my tomatoes I’m trying to grow.

There are these horrific things in South Africa called parktown prawns, which are basically overgrown red disgusting crickets that jump at you. They freak me out, and I will spray/set on fire/flush them down the toilet if I can bring myself too. I have the shivers just thinking of them. Did I mention they jump at you? Yikes.

And mosquitos. Those things don’t deserve to be a species.

Other than that, not really. I even put spiders back outside mostly.

Directly, I’ve only killed small things like ants . But I ate meat until I was 15, so I ate things that were killed so I could eat them. And even now, animals are still killed by accident in farming, by cars, etc. It’s difficult to not kill anything at all in the modern world. And sometimes it’s kinder – our cat was very old and ill, and we had him put down because he was too old and ill to make him better again. There’s a big debate about “euthanasia” in humans, which is whether it’s OK for people to decide to be helped to die before they would normally die. There are a lot of complicated issues with this, and it’s not an easy issue to decide.

Not as part of my work! I’ve only killed things if they were biting me at the time, like ants and mosquitoes. I come from Australia, where most things are trying to kill you (joke, sort of!), so I think it’s ok to squish a few ants…
