My job is pretty safe (I work on a computer*) so the last time I had a science accident was when I was at school. The wooden tongs on my chemistry experiment started burning, and I decided that it would be a super awesome idea to grab the test tube so I could put the tongs out. I had part of a plastic glove melted onto my finger for weeks. I also managed to drop mercury all over the floor after being told several times to be super careful not to do that. So, whoops. I think that at least convinced me not to be a chemist and to stick to things that are harder to break or set on fire.
* So no, this is a lie, I have a sweet scar on my left hand from when I was tired and bashed it against my laptop charger. I mean, from when I was fighting Space Bears. Yeah.
