Personally, I don’t because I’ve never seen one or seen any proof for one. However, the guy I’m talking to in my lab is a strong believer due to some funky physics. Try watching The One with Jet Li and Jason Statham.
They could exist, but I don’t *believe* in them. We haven’t found any evidence, in other words. But they’re not impossible. Also, whether we could go to them if they did exist, I don’t know.
Believe is a hard word for a scientist to use, because strictly speaking science leads you to “think” or “know”, rather than “believe”. Belief is thinking an idea is true without provable evidence – and without provable evidence – there is no science in that idea! In terms of parallel universes, well, I wouldn’t rule it out, but the thing is – if they are truly parallel they never ever cross (if two lines are parallel then they never cross), so how could we ever prove it if we can’t ever detect it?! Even saying things “should be” one way or another doesn’t mean they are, until we can test it and prove it. Maybe we can jump from one to another (and back again), but I’m no expert in the physical structure of how that could happen (stay tuned to Rob’s lab mate)!
