Hello! I was wondering what made you want to do become a lecturer, and what lectures are actually like at university?

Question: Hello! I was wondering what made you want to do become a lecturer, and what lectures are actually like at university? Is it as daunting and scary as they make it out to be? I'm hoping to study medicine next year and since I will be the first of my family to attend university here in England, I don't really know what to expect. Thanks for your time.

  Both my parents are university lecturers and I think I have it in me. I really enjoy teaching students new concepts. At University you can expect big group classes called lectures, small group classes which are referred to as tutorials or workshops and practical labs sessions. There is nothing scary about it. If you work hard I am sure you will be very successful.
